An Indian friend of mine who I Blog with on another site was feeling down and singing her song of woe. The same old story we all go through here on Sulekha, how things have changed and her new Blog would not garner any responses. It is funny that I am the one who my friends cry to. I Blog on three Indian sites, two Spanish sites and two political sites. On each site I am lucky to get ten responses. It is largely my own fault because I am not a good responder. What I mean is I don't usually respond using a one liner tit for tat. I have often said that I would like credit for responding by the word not by the response, I just think the mentality of most Bloggers is one for one on responses. However I prefer to view them as word for word, six one line responses are equal to one paragraph response in my book.

So when my Indian friend started singing her song of woe I was literally laughing as she has not written a Blog in several years that gets less than 50 responses. She hemmed and hawed that this next Blog was going to be lucky to get 10 responses. Now remember 10 responses is a decent number in my book ( if you are sitting in my shoes). After about 20 minutes of this ridiculous conversation I was growing tired of it and suggested we bet. I generously gave her 20 responses rather than the "measly" 10 she was bemoaning. The bet was a box of baked goods.... something I really don't need but always want! If I won and she received more than 20 in ten days she would bake me a assortment of Indian baked goods. If indeed she won with 20 or less in the 10 day period I would labor in my kitchen and send her an assortment of baked goods.

Today is day 5 and I thought ......let's see how I am doing on the bet and went to look at her Blog...... she has over two hundred responses. I looked back and found that she topped the 20 mark in the first few hours....ROFLMAO. I guess the net result will be that I will have to be doing sit ups to prepare for my winning box of goodies, while she slaves in a hot kitchen and considers just how ridiculous her whining was.

So my friends I would like to ask what types of desserts I should request? What are your favorites? What travels reasonably well? I do like chocolate ( who doesn't?) I do like fruit pies and caramels. But what should I ask for? How about some help..... PLEASE?  A chocolate devil food cake would be fitting although it is not Indian because I am surely the devil. I knew there was no way on Earth that I would lose this bet. My mouth is already starting to water..... Yep I am a devil.
